During the summer months, it’s difficult to imagine living in your house without air conditioning. But there are many homeowners who put unnecessary strain on their AC because they do not know how to operate it properly. Thermostat: Make sure your thermostat is clean (inside and out), and with fully charged batteries (if it runs on batteries).
Air Filter: When was the last time you replaced your filter? IF you can’t remember, you’re no doubt putting stress on your AC unit.
Constantly Running: Is your AC unit constantly running or running most of the day without long breaks in-between cycles? This can put a lot of stress on your AC, and you may need a professional to evaluate why you’re having to run it constantly to keep cool.
Cycling: Fast cycling, the time it takes between your AC turning off and then back on again, is really hard on an AC unit. This could be a sign or symptom of other issues that should be looked at before you end up with an expensive repair bill.
